01 Four key words explain the blueprint of “future industry”

Whether it is digital transformation or green and smart manufacturing, Schneider Electric is a pioneer and enabler in the industry. At the 2023 Industrial Expo, Schneider Electric debuted at the exhibition with the theme of "Accelerating Digitalization and Moving towards a More Sustainable Future Industry" and launched the innovative concept of "Future Industry", which attracted great attention from the industry. What is "future industry"? Schneider Electric said that the future industry can be explained by several keywords, which are openness, efficiency and resilience, sustainability, and people-oriented. Openness includes open next-generation automation systems, open architectures, open minds, and open ecological cooperation, so that enterprises can keep pace with the times; efficiency and resilience refer to the continuous improvement of production and operational resilience with the help of digital tools , making the business more robust, flexible and energy-efficient, so that it can calmly cope with the challenges brought by various uncertain factors from upstream and downstream; sustainability, in order to achieve sustainable development of industry, industrial software, automation systems and energy management are indispensable. No; putting people first means using emerging technologies to empower industrial practitioners, strengthen people's capabilities, and help them get rid of repetitive operations and engage in safer, more efficient, and more valuable work.

02Two strategic engines towards “future industry”

So, how can traditional industries move towards future industries? Schneider Electric provides two long-term strategies: "digital acceleration" and "sustainable development". Among them, digital acceleration can improve the process efficiency of the entire life cycle of the enterprise, including production efficiency and energy efficiency, reduce enterprise losses, and at the same time realize the optimization of the entire value chain and the entire industry chain in the entire process and scope, and ultimately win the market Take the initiative. Sustainable development is an important part of enterprises achieving their "double carbon" goals and shaping their future competitive advantages. In the context of the dual-carbon strategy, Chinese companies often face difficulties such as cost, technology, and efficiency as they move towards carbon neutrality. Schneider Electric's practice shows that through the integration of energy and automation, integrated management of process performance and energy consumption can help companies improve production stability while improving energy efficiency. For industrial enterprises, digital acceleration and sustainable development are inseparable and mutually reinforcing. Digitalization provides the foundation for sustainable development, and sustainable development provides a new stage and development impetus for digitalization. With the support of the two strategic engines of "digital acceleration" and "sustainable development", it will undoubtedly help enterprises accelerate their transformation and move towards the future industry. Schneider Electric will also spare no effort to help enterprises move towards a more sustainable future industry with its comprehensive digital acceleration capabilities and experience.

03Building a first-class supply chain for “future industry”

After several years of the epidemic, many supply chain companies, including Schneider Electric itself, are facing many challenges. In response to the supply chain management challenges commonly faced by Chinese enterprises, Schneider Electric has given a "good recipe" for supply chain transformation - following the four major trends of lean, resilience, green and digitalization to create a "first-class customer-centered supply chain".

Part1

Lean means that enterprises need to focus on customer needs, reduce or eliminate various wastes in the entire industrial process, and improve their competitiveness. Lean is the basis for ensuring efficient operation of the supply chain. Part2

Resilience refers to the supply chain's ability to recover quickly when it suffers a shock, and is the guarantee for the stable operation of the supply chain.

Part3

Green means that the supply chain needs to follow the path of sustainable development. In the context of global sustainable development, the green and low-carbon transformation of the supply chain is urgent.

Part4

Digitalization is a powerful tool throughout supply chain leanness, resilience building and green transformation. While ensuring its efficient and stable operation, it also makes the supply chain more "smart".

04Pioneer and enabler of supply chain management

Schneider Electric has always regarded supply chain management as one of its core competencies. It has adopted leading lean production deployment strategies in nearly 200 factories and 100 logistics centers around the world, including 22 factories and 7 logistics centers in China. "Schneider Electric Performance Management System (SPS)" continuously improves all production processes and business processes. In addition, by deploying various digital operation systems based on the EcoStruxure architecture and platform, the overall production efficiency of Schneider Electric's China factories has increased by 8-10%.

In addition, the company currently has 65 "zero-carbon factories" around the world, 17 "zero-carbon factories" in China, 15 "green factories" recognized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and 12 "carbon-neutral" factories. In addition to achieving carbon neutrality itself, Schneider Electric has also committed to achieving carbon neutrality in the end-to-end value chain by 2040 and net-zero carbon emissions in the end-to-end value chain in 2050. At present, an end-to-end green value chain covering green design, green procurement, green production, green delivery, and green operation and maintenance has been created.

As a pioneer and enabler of supply chain management, Schneider Electric also actively drives the industrial chain to jointly reduce carbon emissions. Schneider Electric launched the supplier "Zero Carbon Plan" in 2021, aiming to help the world's top 1,000 suppliers reduce carbon emissions by 50% at the operational level by 2025 by providing technical guidance, consulting services, etc., including 230 companies in China core suppliers. Currently, Schneider Electric has helped global “Zero Carbon Plan” suppliers reduce carbon emissions by an average of 20%. Chinese suppliers even reduced carbon emissions by 21% on average.

"Thinking about change" has always been integrated into the blood of Schneider Electric. From green intelligent manufacturing to "future industry", every leap it makes is not only supported by the strength inherited from its own strong heritage, but also stems from its open cooperation. manner. Over the years, Schneider Electric has been committed to creating a new industrial ecology of win-win cooperation and symbiosis. This time, while fully demonstrating its comprehensive strength of both hard and soft skills at the CIIE, it also allowed more industrial companies to gain an in-depth understanding of Schneider Electric. digital technology expertise and sustainability experience. Looking forward to the future, Schneider Electric looks forward to joining hands with more industrial partners to jointly write a "future industry" that is open, efficient, resilient, sustainable, and people-oriented.
